Lidio Zago Obituary

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Lidio Zago on March 13, 2022.

He was a dedicated and adoring husband to Marlene for 56 years. They lived a rich life together travelling, camping and fishing with their daughters.

Lidio took pride in volunteering for the Elks Lodge Athletic Association, spending many hours time keeping for the Elks kids hockey games, and working the bingos.

He worked many years at the Great Lakes Paper Mill and enjoyed a long retirement.

Fun times were had around the pool with the grandchildren. He kept busy curling, playing crib, dancing and playing bingo.

Lidio will be greatly missed by his daughters Char (Scott) Campbell, Catherine (Jim) Fedick and Val (Harold) McGregor, his grandchildren Matthew, Sara and Rachel (Graham), great grandchildren Zeya and Edie. He will also be missed by his good friend Florence O Keefe.

Lidio is survived by his brother Leo (Gloria) Zago and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Marlene, sisters Lena Eade and Clara Nelson, brother Leno and his grandson Bruce.

A private family interment has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.

To all the family: I´m so very sorry to hear of the loss of your father and grandfather. The last couple years I would see him regularly at his friend´s condo where I also lived. We´ve all know. Each other for so many years. He will be missed by so many. My deepest sympathies

We are deeply saddened to hear of Lidio's passing.
He was always kind and cheerful.

Lideo had no patience or time for BS.
People always new where they stood with him.
This was a quality that we appreciated about him.
We will miss him a lot.
