Lieselotte Vidlak Obituary

Lieselotte (Lilo) Vidlak passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the age of 94. Lilo was born on January 7, 1924 in Jihlava (Iglau) Czechoslovakia and emigrated to Canada in 1952. She was predeceased by her husband Leopold in 1992 and is survived by her son Charles (Rita) and daughter Eva. She is also survived by her two granddaughters. Kristen (Shaun) and Tracy and numerous relatives in the Czech Republic.

In her early years Lilo worked as a teacher in Czechoslovakia. After coming to Canada, she raised her children and in 1965 began working at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital as an Occupational Therapist, retiring in 1984.

After retirement, Lilo travelled extensively to visit family and friends in Germany, Czechoslovakia and throughout Europe. She was also fortunate to go on many cruises, visiting most of the islands in the Caribbean as well as her favourite place, Hawaii.

As per Lilo's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life with family will be held at a future date.
