LILLIAN BLAKE Obituary

LILLIAN JEAN BLAKE (BELL) January 10, 1927 to February 20, 2026
Lillian Jean Blake, lovingly known as Jean, passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 20, 2026. Jean was born January 10th, 1927 to Eleanor (Wamsley) and Herman Bell. She married George Louis Blake on June 23, 1943. Together they shared 53 years of marriage before George's passing May 6, 1996. Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She raised ten children and was the heart of a large and loving family. Jean's sense of humour and fiery personality were what made her so deeply loved. She found joy in the simple things in life, raising her children and later her grandchildren who meant the world to her. Those who knew her best shared a special bond with her and understood that her love was shown in all the ways she cared for others. Jean was predeceased by her mother and father, siblings Aubrey, Gordon, Jenny, Norine, Raymond and Winnie; husband George; grandson Stephen; her sons Robert, Kenneth and Alan; daughters-in-law Elizabeth and Charlene and son-in-law Vic Foglia. She is lovingly remembered by her children and their children and 34 great grandchildren, Mary Lou and Ron Shandruk (George, Lorrie, Tannis and Dave); Raymond and Betty Blake (Clifford and Christine, Christopher); Judy Blake (Jesse and Hannah); Patrick Blake; Nancy Foglia (Krysta and Justin, Melissa and Lyndon); Tom and Renee Blake (Melanie and Jared, Emily and Colin); Kelley Baker (Evan). She will also be remembered by the families of her late sons; Robert (Keith and Melissa, Kim and Abbe, Kris and Chris); Kenneth (Mandy, Heather and Tammy); Alan (wife Lois, Ryly and Lyle, Aaron and Dylan, Richard and Melanie). Jean loved a warm sunny day in the countryside, a small celebration of life will be held for family this coming summer to honour her life and last wishes.

She will be deeply loved and forever remembered.

I have wonderful memories of playing at the house on Vickers Avenue: playing baseball, skipping, picking seeds from the giant sunflowers, etc.. And there was often a giant jug of cold Kool-Aid to get us through hot summer afternoons. Thank you, Mrs. Blake, for the grand times.
My sincere condolences to the Blake family.

My condolences to my cousins and their families.
Its been far too many years...but I still remember visiting with you all in Riverview Rd and later on a road off Arthur St.
My parents were Gordon and Mae Bell.
I remember Aunt Jean fondly.
