LINDA HAY Obituary

HAY, LINDA 1947 ~ 2026 With heavy hearts we say goodbye today, March 5, 2026, to the shining light in our lives. With her loving family, lifelong friends, and Jesus waiting in the wings to take her home, our beloved Linda chose, with the assistance of the MAID Program, to go on her eternal journey on her own terms, with her spirit at peace, her dignity in tact. Linda was 78 years of age.

Her heart was truly filled with love and human kindness. Everyone who met her witnessed this, as well as her unconditional love and selfless intention to help people. She made everyone in her presence feel safe and comfortable.

Her sense of humour, the cheeky look of mischief in her big brown eyes, was what she was well known for and begged the question, "What are you up to now?", to which she would reply, "About 5 ft 1 inch".

She loved life, loved her family and treasured her friendships. Being a people person, Linda would draw everyone to her like a magnet. She loved being out in nature, it was her happy place.

Linda is survived by her sons, Scott (Lauren) Hay, Paul (Deidra) Hay and her grandchildren Ayriah, Scarlett, Madison, Hailey and Liam, as well as her beloved sister Anita (Rick) Hutton who has been her anchor, also extended family, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Linda is predeceased by her parents, Jean and Dominic DiBiaggio, and spouse, Donald Hay.

Special thanks to Sheleigh McMillan, lifetime friend, confidant, our compass who kept us on course through inclement weather, Doreen and Ed Luby for their dedication and Linda's best friend of 74 years, Leslie (Ron) Herman who came from BC to be with Linda.

Special appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses in ICU, Neurology Unit and the Cancer Clinic at TBRHSC, and those who are associated with the MAID Program, for the empathy, good grace and care you showed toward Linda. Also, many friends came to her side who are not mentioned but, we know who you are and you will forever be in our hearts.

Linda will be missed deeply but her absence will never dim her light. We will never forget her. She will live in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a Charity of Your Choice, would be appreciated.

To the Hay family please accept my sincere condolences. Linda was such a nice kind lady that will be truly missed. I was a neighbour of hers and we would say hello each morning when I would walk by her home with my dog Cookie. Cookie and her fur baby Gracie would play for a few minutes as we would chat. I´m so sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace.

Linda lived across the street from us for a few years and she sure brought excitement to
our street. We sure missed her when she moved out. She was a funny and lovely lady who will certainly be missed. Our thoughts and condolences to Linda´s family.
