Ljubomir Velickovic, age 76 years, of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 with family by his side.Ljubomir was born in Beograd and immigrated to Canada with his wife and two children in the late 70s. When he first came to Canada he stayed with his family, Lepa and Mark Brdar, and was also employed by Mark. His last place of employment was with Rizzo's Cabinets. Ljubomir enjoyed carpentry, helping his wife in the garden, and looking after his grandchildren whom he adored.Ljubomir was the best husband, father and grandfather anyone could ask for. He leaves behind Rada, his wife for over 50 years; his daughter Samantha (Tony Graca); two grandchildren, Megan and Jason; his special family member Lepa Brdar and her children who helped him immigrate to Canada, Nancy (Jerry Lemon) and Robert. Nieces and nephews also survive in Europe. He was predeceased by his parents and two sons, Dragan and Zoran.Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 3rd in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, presided by Rev. Fr. Nikolaos Tambakis of the Greek Orthodox Community Holy Trinity Church. Interment in Riverside Cemetery will follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of Service. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ljubomir's memory to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation or to the Greek Orthodox Community Holy Trinity Church.
