LOIS RIDDELL
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois Riddell, who passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Lois was born in Port Arthur, Ontario to Conrad and Agnes. Lois was an avid reader and would rarely be seen without a book on her lap. Her love of reading touched every corner of her life. Her mother often said the house could be falling down around her and she would be too immersed in her book to notice.
Family was the focus of Lois' life. Along with her husband, Cliff, Lois raised two daughters, Cathryn and Janis. She forged a lasting, supportive and compassionate family bond that extended to her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful baker and always ensured tasty cookies were ready for her family to enjoy. She hosted wonderful family dinners, particularly over the holidays, where delicious food was plentiful and the company was lively. She was a quiet soul and loved her family unconditionally.
Summers were spent with family at camp where years of laughter and joyful memories were created. She took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens and loved spending time chatting with her family over a cup of tea.
Lois is predeceased by her parents, two sisters (Gail and Ann), and husband, Cliff. She will be lovingly missed by her daughters and, son-in-law (Horst), grandchildren (Robbie, Lindsay, Erik, David, and Brent) and their partners, her great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her gentle kindness, quiet compassion, and generosity of spirit. Lois was a pillar of calm strength and consistency for her family.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dave Janhunen, caregivers, and staff of the Kingfisher Wing of Pinewood LTC Facility. Your unwavering kindness, support and love brought waves of comfort to Lois and her entire family.
As per Lois' wishes, there will be no service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for her family.
