Lorette McParland Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest mother Lorette Regina McParland (nee Fournier), age 92 on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Wilkes Terrace Long Term Care Home in Terrace Bay. Lorette was born in Schreiber on March 22, 1925 and was a life long resident. She married the love of her life, Harold McParland on May 14, 1945 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Together they raised 11 children. Lorette was a member of Holy Angels R.C. Church. She served as a CWL president for a 3 year term and on the parish council. In her younger years, she enjoyed x-country skiing, biking and skating.Lorette and Harold enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Lorette is survived by her children Patricia Godin, John(Paula), Dennis (Gaile), Rosemary (Andy) McFall, Susan (Terry) Jones, Jimmy (Sylvia), Maureen (Mike) Caccamo, Lawrence (Marlene), Colleen Smilsky, Kathleen (Bill) Wowchuk and son-in-law Leo Legault. Lorette will also be sadly missed by her 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, her sisters Margaret Scraba and Rita Herring , brothers Herv and Henry Fournier, sisters-in-law Ingrid and Leona Fournier and numerous nieces and nephews, She was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold, parents RoseAnn & Jean-Baptiste, daughter Laura Legault, son-in-law Len Godin, sisters Yvonne Webb, Simone Singleton and brothers Bob and Raoul Fournier. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber at 11 am. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10am. Reception to follow at Schreiber Community Hall. Internment in Schreiber Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations to Wilkes Terrace at McCausland Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Association would be greatly appreciated,
