Lorne Sundell Obituary

Lorne (Lawrence Edward) Sundell, age 75 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Thunder Bay. Lorne worked at Vulcan Machinery for over 25 years and spent his retirement in his garage and at the 55 Plus Centre. He was committed to the Senior Men's Fix-It Club and was a vital force behind many fund raisers and social events. His contributions will be missed. Lorne will forever be loved and remembered by his wife Eleanor (Fidler) with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2005, and his four children: Kathy (Bob), Ken, Karen (Chris) and Kelly (Judy). He leaves six grandchildren, the lights of his life: Katelyn, Hayley, Ian, Heather, Matthew, and Christopher who all adored him. Lorne is also survived by brother Gus (Norma); sisters: Carol and Evelyn(Jerry); as well as brother-in-law John Fidler and his wife Lee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorne was predeceased by parents Nils and Beatrice Sundell; sister Betty; favourite uncle Bernard Sundell; father and mother-in-law Joseph and Marguerite Fidler; and sister-in-law, Edith Hunter. Funeral Services for the late Lorne Sundell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13th, 2006 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. David Silliman of Knox United Church. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the time of Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorne's Memory to The Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre on River Street, or to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation."
