Mr. Louis Arthur Aubin, 75 years, of Red Rock, ON passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital. After moving from Hearst, ON when he was 12 years old, Louis lived and worked his entire life in the community of Red Rock, ON, which he was proud to call his home. Generous and hospitable, his door was always open and welcoming to the many family and friends that found their way there. Louis found his energy in the people that surrounded him and enjoyed just being together, connecting and celebrating. He had a big heart with lots of room, but most of all he loved his wife Linda of 54 years, his three children, and was proud Papa Lou to his grandchildren. He was a life long hockey fan that played and coached for many years. Although, a skilled competitor, it was how he engaged the community through sport that he found his real reward. Whether he was working at the Red Rock Paper Mill as millwright for 40 years, spending time with family and friends, enjoying his camp at Windigokan Lake, playing cribbage at the local legion, it was the people connected to those places that mattered to him most. Predeceased by his parents Gabriel and Noella Aubin, brother Andre Aubin, in-laws Ted and Myrtle Mignault, Arnold Dodds, Bob Maeers and Wendy Warner. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and best friend Linda; children – Louise (Doug) Pochailo of Maple Ridge, BC, Laura (Gerald) Jean of Thunder Bay, ON and Leonard Aubin of Red Rock, ON; grandchildren – Nicholas, Natalia, Robert (Shannie), Nathan (Christena), Emily and Olivia; great-grandchildren – Emma, Ellie, Joey and Charlotte; siblings – Antoinette Dodds, Marcel (Linda) Aubin and Jackie Maeers; in-laws – Sharron Aubin, Danny (Nancy) Mignault, Eddie Mignault, Paul (Evelyn) Mignault and Carole (Roy) Perry, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and, of course, his precious little dog Nellie. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Hilary's Roman Catholic Church in Red Rock, ON. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital or to St. Hilary's Church. Arrangements are in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon, ON.

Dear Linda, Louise, Laura and Lenny...so sad to hear of Louie's passing, my heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Louie was a great family friend and neighbor. He was always welcoming to my early morning weekend knocks at the door to come and play and An extra seat at the dinner table.
