ZORN
Lynda Zorn passed away peacefully in hospice on July 4, 2025. Born on October 3, 1943, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Lynda was the daughter of Eric and Gladys Flint and the sister of Diane, Carolyn, and Norman. Lynda graduated from Lakehead Teachers College and taught all over the south side of Thunder Bay, including at Confederation College. In her 50s, Lynda's adventurous spirit led her to teach in Ecuador for a year before moving to Victoria for a number of years and then finally settling in Kelowna in 2007. Among her family and wide circle of friends, Lynda was known for her intelligence, vibrance, independence, and outspokenness. A very expressive person, she was passionate about gardening, paddling, cycling, painting, and music. She adored children. Lynda approached life with energy and conviction. Actively involved in her community, Lynda contributed her time and talents to many organizations, including the Kelowna City Band, BC FORUM, the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign, Bike to Work Week, the Kelowna South-Central Association of Neighbourhoods, the Parkinson's Superwalk and Good Vibrations. Lynda is survived by her two daughters, Lorie (Brian) and Leanne (Steve), as well as her three grandchildren Katherine, Amanda, and Sebastien who were continual sources of pride and delight. The family especially wishes to thank all those people who provided empathy and understanding in Lynda's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC
Cancer Society, the Parkinson's Society of BC, Central Okanagan Hospice, the Canadian Mental Health Association, or the Central Okanagan United Church. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2:00 pm at Central Okanagan United Church. In addition, for those who wish to participate and/or donate, a team will be entered in Lynda's honour for the Parkinson Super Walk, scheduled for the morning of Saturday September 6.
