Madeline McPhee Obituary

Mrs. Madeline Marie McPhee, age 78 years, resident of Fitzgerald Street, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospice on Saturday, November 1, 2003. Madeline was born in Sand Point, Ontario. She was employed by Great Lakes Lumber & Shipping as a cook in area bush camps and later, moved to Winnipeg where she worked for the T. Eaton Co. Following that, she married her first husband Theodore Dow who predeceased her in 1957, and then married her present husband in 1958. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting but her home and family were her main interests. Madeline was a secretary in the family business (Kraft Movers) for forty four years this year. Madeline is survived by her husband Rea; four daughters: Iris Dow, Jean Dow, Grace Podolchuk (Gary Zurkan); Madelaine McPhee; son Brian Dow, all of Thunder Bay; six grandchildren: Katie, Camille, Jon, Steven, Sherry, Shanna; five great grandchildren; sisters: Annie McGuire, Hilda Lagarde, Agnes Hardy, Flo Veilleux; four brothers: Stanley Lagarde, Christy Lagarde, Richard and Ronnie Lagarde. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; sister Audrey Lafrancois; brother Curly Lagarde and grandson Nathan Borysiewicz. According to Madeline's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Rev. Mark Owens of First Baptist Church. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Madeline's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation."
