MAHLON INKSETTER Obituary

INKSETTER
Mahlon Inksetter, age 60, died in his sleep of cardiac arrest on January 8, 2026, at his home in Powell River, British Columbia. Mahlon was born at the Port Arthur General Hospital on Thanksgiving in 1965, the first of the four children born to Paul Inksetter and Betty Ward. Mahlon attended Shuniah School and Hillcrest High School before taking his degree in Computer Science at Lakehead University. Throughout his life, Mahlon's inquiring mind was driven by his insatiable curiosity. He was a voracious reader, a ranked chess player, an avid downhill skier, an international traveller, an acute observer of world affairs with an ever-present sense of social justice. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Mahlon was a courageous, compassionate, loving soul with an enduring zest for the joy in life. He is survived by his father Paul Inksetter and step-mother Penelope Clarke in Thunder Bay, his mother Betty Lacoste and step-father Michael Lacoste in Powell River, by his three siblings, and his large extended international clan of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bruce and Isobel Inksetter and Fred and Margaret Ward, by his Aunt Eleanor, his Uncle Bruce, and by his name-sake uncle George Mahlon Inksetter. A private family memorial will be held in Powell River in April. Memorial donations to the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated.
