Malenfant Freed Obituary

Mrs. Madeline Freed, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully in the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital McKellar Site on Friday, July 18th, 2003 with her best friend and husband of 61 years, Jack, by her side. She was predeceased by her parents James and Lena Anderson, granddaughter Nancy, sister Betty, and brother Ron. Surviving her are husband Jack, daughter Marilyn Murray (Neil), son Richard Freed (Anne), grandchildren Andrea Lucier (Jason), Diane Murray (Chris), Kristen Mikulcik (Steven), Kelly Freed (Tony), and Kimberly Freed. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.Her sister-in-law Vera shared 'Man's A Good Laugh' with Mad and Jack, and she will be missed by her long time neighbors and adopted family Andrew, Marie, Jared, Mara, and Nikoal.In her youth, Madeline spent many happy days at Silver Islet, where she met the love of her life, Jack. He married Jack on March 18th, 1942 at Wesley United Church, a marriage that lasted over 61 years. In life she loved to swim, canoe and hike, had a great doll collection, and a love of birds. Madeline had a wonderful sense of humor and she never missed sending out pay of the special cards. Her last was an Anniversary Card the night before she passed away. The family would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors at McKellar Hospital, Four South and Emergency. Special thanks to her Doctors. Dr. Mymko, Dr. Agarwal, and Dr, Miata. Graveside service for the late Mrs. Madeline Freed will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends are invited to meet with family at the Jenkens Funeral Home Reception Centre following the interment service.
