Manfred Broennle Obituary

Manfred Ottmar Broennle, aged 80, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at TBRHSC. Manfred came to Canada at the age of 18, from Munich Germany, and after working in Quebec, stopped in Fort William for one night on his way out west. The rest, as they say, is history. Manfred met his first love Ruth Jennings and started a family in Rosslyn Village. Many Sunday afternoon family dinners were shared in that home as well as big family trips to Sibley campgrounds. He had many accomplishments including master electrician, professional boxer, commercial diver, subject of two feature movies and Ship's Captain. Manfred was also very resilient surviving a broken neck from a plane crash and three marriages. Manfred is survived by sons Dean (Lori), Mark (Lenora), Todd (April), Brock and Tug (Revonda) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Losing Dad feels like the end to a really good party. You don't want it to end, and the next morning your eyes are red and puffy. Many thanks to John, Deborah and all the other friends who stopped by to see Manfred. A special thank you to Jenny, Janne, Corinne and Dr. Amhed, whose kindness and compassion were there at the most difficult time, and of course to all the staff in the ICU who gave him such considerate care. One of the last things my Dad said to me was "they are very good here." Dad will be holding court with Ruth and their son Kirk tonight as well as anyone else who wants to listen to a tale well spun. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Ridgeway Street.On-line condolencesmay be made through www.nwfainc.com"
