Marcel Leonard Binette, remembered for his love, loyalty and easy-going nature, passed away peacefully in hospital with family by his side on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Born January 19, 1948, Marcel enjoyed his French upbringing and youthful adventures in Fort William. He received his education at St. Stanislaus School and Selkirk High School. His work life included positions at Dominion Motors and Cole McCubbin Ltd. Custom Brokerage. A recent retiree of the Canada Revenue Agency, Marcel was their friendliest Auditor for 35 years. His savvy with numbers extended into his personal life. He was an exceptional card player and won many bridge trophies. He organised football pools for the Adanac and loved vacations in Las Vegas. Weekends included his two passions of watching sports and cooking signature dishes. He was a meatball connoisseur and was excited to have recently perfected his recipe. Above all, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends. Marcel was predeceased by his father Bruno, mother Annette and older brothers Maurice and Richard. He remains forever in the hearts of his beloved partner Rona Boyd and her dearly loved children Carrie (Denis) Barunik and Jeremy (Tammy) Boyd. His cherished daughters Nicole Binette (Andrew Moorey) and Adrienne Binette (Andy Lacroix) and their mother Donna Burleigh will never forget him. Grandchildren Anson and Ayla Moorey, Bailey Barunik and Curtis Boyd will lovingly remember their adored Papa. Marcel's brother, Raymond Binette, will deeply miss his lifetime companion. Marcel is also remembered with great fondness by numerous other nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. During his 21,996 days, he touched the lives of many for which all are grateful. A Service of Remembrance for Marcel Binette will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James with Fr. Richard Kowalchuk officiating.
