Margaret Jessiman Obituary

The family of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Margaret Jessiman announce her passing on Saturday, December 13, 2008. She was born on April 24, 1913 in Winnipeg to parents Theresa and John Meder. She met the love of her life James (Jim) Hugh Jessiman and after the birth of their first daughter Valerie they moved to Fort William. Daughter Diane and son Bill were born there. She loved to entertain, bake, garden, read and her beautiful crafts adorn many homes. Jim's political career began early and after spending time as a city alderman he was elected to provincial parliament and Margaret stood proudly by his side. She made lasting friendships wherever she went. Her neighbours in Vickers Heights, Cherrydale Place, Jasper Apt. and Versa Care were important to her. The passing of daughter Diane Dingwall (Gary) in 1969 was something that grieved her the rest of her life. She was particularly fond of her Jessiman in-laws. Her love of the Lord, her family and friends filled her life with many precious moments. Left to mourn her passing are daughter Valerie Hollyman (Bob); son Bill Jessiman (Gerri); grandsons Rhys Hollyman (Tiffany), Ryan Hollyman (Monica); granddaughter Laura Jessiman; great-grandchildren Logan and Lilly Hollyman; sister Eleanor Roth; sister-in-law Muriel Jessiman; special nephew Jim Piper (Lois); numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Pat and Dan Inman, Caressa Caron and the Calderelli family. Special thanks to Jasper Place staff, Versa Care staff 4th floor and Dr. Mimko. Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at First Church United. Interment of ashes will be held at Mountain View Cemetery following the reception. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or a charity of your choice. I regret not staying in touch with auntie Margaret.
Our families were close when we were kids and I always had tremendous respect for her intellect
