MARGARET ARLENE JOYCE VELTRI (nee McFarlane)
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Arlene Joyce Veltri (nee McFarlane) announce her peaceful passing on Sunday December 14, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her husband and two daughters. Margaret was 89 years. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, Louis; children, Debbie (Brian), Dawna (Gordon), grandchildren, Lauren (Quinto), Kira (Brian), Carli (Travis), Ryan (Amber), great grandchildren, Cassian, Jude, Blake, Brooks, Avery, Andie and numerous other family members and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Ellen, siblings, Dick (Mamie), Isabella (Bill), Leonard (Elvie), Bill, Harry, Frank, Anne, John (Kay), Bernice (Freddy), Jarvis (Doris), Donald. As a young mother, Margaret was a loving stay-at-home mother, who was active in the lives of her two daughters. She was also like a mother to a young woman boarder who lived with the family for a few years while attending high school, Marianne. She was someone her children and friends could go to for advice, love and comfort. Margaret spent many years as part of the Royal Purple, volunteering and working for the organization, and was part of the Drill Team. Margaret made friends easily and anyone who met her, loved her. The last few years, she struggled with Dementia (Alzheimer's), which robbed her of her memories and many of the pleasures she had in life. A memorial ceremony will be celebrated at a future date, in the summer of 2026. A notice will be placed in the paper, when we have a date. The family would like to thank many of the nurses, Ben, Claire, Lucja and her PSW, Monica, who were with the family sharing their compassion and giving Margaret amazing end of life care.
