Margaret Wakefield Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Ida Margaret Wakefield, at the age of 85 years, in the T.B.R.H.S.C. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. She married Jack Wakefield on August 12, 1948 and together they raised their family in Thunder Bay. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, baking and even doing some carpentry. Ida was a woman who wasn't afraid to tackle any challenge. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children: Ross (Judy) Wakefield, Wendy (Joe) Zeman, Holly (George ) Smith of Calgary, Ian (Brenda) Wakefield, and Kyle (Stephanie) Wakefield; grandchildren: Chelsey (Mike) Barrington of Thunder Bay, Jodie Smith and Casey Smith of Calgary, AB, Colin (Laura) Zeman of Lethbridge, AB, Lorie (Kelly) Reimer of Steinbach, MB, and Timothy Zeman, Jack, Joshua and Shelby Wakefield of Thunder Bay, great grandchildren: Andrew, Sieanna, Owen, Brianna and Camden as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1994, parents Hank Fingler and Mary Makela and brother Ernie Fingler. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street, with Rev. Lloyd Ivany presiding. Following a reception in the Sargent Family Reception Centre the interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends will be from 6-8 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Chapel. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com. "
