Maria Monteith

Mrs. Maria Monteith (Leeder) aged 91 years a resident of Dawson Court, passed away Monday December 14/09. Maria was born and raised in Midland Ontario and came from a family of 13 children. She moved to Thunder Bay in 1958. She was a mother who worked hard for her five children. She had a strong faith in her God Jehovah and believed in a better future for all of mankind and herself. She is predeceased by her husband and daughter Margaret (Zwarych) and survived by her children Joan Nelson (Coquitlam BC), Peter Leeder (Thunder Bay), Frank Leeder (Sudbury), and Mark Leeder (Winnipeg). She has 6 grandchildren Melody (Lefno) and Cindy (Rouleau) (Calgary), Lincoln Leeder (Thunder Bay), Alicia Loewen (Winnipeg), Anita and Jeffrey Zwarych (Thunder Bay) and 4 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Dawson Court for the loving care given to Maria. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering and interment will take place at a later date."
