She was born September 12, 1939 in Beren's River, Manitoba and she moved to the Fort Frances area at a very young age. There she met her loving soul mate, Archie McPherson and was united in marriage January 12, 1960. In 1974 she moved with her family to Ignace, where she spent her remaining years. Marie was a source of inspiration to all who knew her and she will be with us in our hearts forever. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Rebecca Storey. She leaves to mourn her husband Archie of Ignace, daughter Shermalynn and her partner Bruce Riggs of Edmonton, AB, son Russell and his wife Jane of Sooke, BC. She also leaves three grandchildren, Jessica and husband John Stieh, and Nathan McPherson of Thunder Bay, and Katie McPherson of Sooke. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, November 13 at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Ignace. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Arthritis Society would be greatly appreciated.Do not stand at my grave and weepI am not there I do not sleepI am a thousand winds that blowI am the diamond glints on snowI am the sunlight on ripened grainI am the gentle autumn rainWhen you awake in the morning hushI am the swift uplifting rushOf quiet birds in circled flightI am the soft starsthat shine at night Do not stand at my grave and cryI am not there I did not die."
