Mrs. Marilyn Anne Knott (nee Cawley), age 70 years, passed away peacefully in hospital with family by her side on Saturday, May 11, 2013.Marilyn was born in Fort William, Ontario on August 27, 1942 to Stan and Margaret Cawley. She attended St. Martin's Separate School, St. Patrick's High School and the University of Toronto graduating in 1963. She began her high school teaching career in Rainy River from 1963 to 1964, then Sault Ste. Marie from September to December of 1964 before returning to Thunder Bay with the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, retiring in 1996.Marilyn always looked forward to travelling, especially attending the Indianapolis 500 (last Sunday in May). She was also an avid follower of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Marilyn loved tending to her summer garden and was a voracious reader, particularly English murder mysteries. She prided herself on her command of grammar and punctuation and this came in handy when proof reading her husband's four Hardy Boys "fan fiction" books.Marilyn especially enjoyed the Thursday night "Card Club" ladies, Sunday family dinners, Friday night Business Women's League Curling and watching her future NHL star play hockey. She loved to spend time with her "little angel" her grandson Jordan as he was the apple of her eye. Marilyn was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and teacher in every respect and will be irreplaceable. Survived by her husband Norman; daughters Lynda Creed (Curtis) and Karen Walford (Steve) and son Mike Knott (Bonnie) and only grandchild Jordan; sisters Carol MacNeil (Wayne) and Elizabeth Cawley (Brenda) and brother-in-law Ron McMichael of Lakeville, MN. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.Predeceased by her parents Stan and Margaret Cawley and sister Catherine McMichael.A big thank you to all the staff of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for all their care towards Marilyn during her stay there.Funeral services for the late Mrs. Marilyn Knott will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 with family and friends gathering in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 3:00PM (TODAY) celebrated by Fr. Antoni Fujarczuk.
