MARINO MINOLETTI Obituary

MARINO MINOLETTI
Marino Minoletti, 84, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Marino was born on April 19, 1939, in Falmenta, Italy. Marino came with his family to Thunder Bay (Fort William) in 1950.

Marino is survived by and will be forever missed by his loving wife Janice, his daughters Debbie and Cheryl, sons Randy (Denita), Robert (Gail), and Steven, 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, his sister Amelia (Aldo) Mascarin, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Ercolina (Grassi) and Giuseppe Minoletti, his brothers Luciano Minoletti, Attillio Minoletti and Pietro Minoletti.

Marino was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Great Great Grandfather. He had a great love for Ice Hockey and was a dedicated minor Hockey League coach for 20 years in Southern California and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Marino, also lovingly known as "Mino" and his wife Jan spent many summers and winters fishing at Lac De Mille Lac where they had a beautiful camp overlooking the lake. He and Jan later wintered in Mesa Arizona where Marino enjoyed playing golf, making new friends, and tending a variety of cacti that were often gifts to his neighbors and friends. With the hands of a skilled plasterer and laborer, Marino added a special touch to every residence that he owned. He taught his children the importance of working hard and how to think creatively, for which they are grateful.

The family wants to thank the caregivers at Hogarth Riverview Manor, 1 North for their care of Marino over the past two and a half years during his battle with Dementia.

Per Marino's wishes there will not be a funeral service. Please consider donating to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society.

My sincere condolences go to Jan & all family. I met Marino in 2004 when he & Jan invited me to visit them in Arizona. I had such a wonderful holiday with them & they were both so kind & welcoming to me. I am so sad to hear about Marino & wish I wasn´t so far away (in UK) & could visit Jan. RIP Marino. You were such a lovely man xx

I coached the Westfort Maroons AA Midget hockey team with Marino in 1975. He and his family had returned from California. His very talented son Randy played on this team . Marino was a true gentleman. I was blessed to have met him. My condolences to his family.

Sorry to hear of Uncle Marino's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
I remember the special times when we were younger, either going on family picnics or just visiting. He was always laughing and made the occasion brighter. We will certainly miss him.
