Mario Gaggiano Obituary
Mr. Mario Gaggiano, age 68 years, a longtime resident of 237 Arundel Street, passed away in Westmount Hospital on Friday, March 23, 2001 after a 16 year battle with Parkinsons Disease. Mario was born on March 29, 1932 in Fiume, Italy. His greatest love was for his family. He truly enjoyed his yard and garden on Arundel Street as well as sharing his homemade wine with family and friends. Mario was an avid soccer fan and played locally. He was also a fan of the New York Yankees and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by Shirley Melba (nee Hawkins), his wife with whom he would have celebrated 48 years of marriage in June, sons Barry (Susan) and Todd (Kim), grandchildren Leanne (Brad), Tyler and Kadi-Rose, great grandchildren Dillon, Bradon, Kaitlyn and Devon, sister Catterina (Sandro) of Australia, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jennifer and Lorne Everett of Santa Barbara, California, brother-in-law Edward Hawkins of Fergus, Ontario, his best friend and companion Cookie as well as by numerous nieces nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his son Dean, parents Alfredo and Antonia, brothers Pietro and Paolo, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Ted and Marka Hawkins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street with Archdeacon Mark S. Conliffe officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for friends will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the Sargent & Son Chapel. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada."
