Marion Strawson

Marion Strawson passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2021. Her family is gathering from across Canada and we are strengthened by our wonderful memories and her contribution to our lives and community. Husband Peter provided this photo of Marion at her 1955 McKellar Hospital graduation. Blessed as partners since 1956, Peter and Marion enjoyed many adventures, travels, fun times and cultural enjoyment. Marion had a large community impact through involvement in numerous pursuits (Community Food Advisor, St. John's Anglican, Symphony Chorus, Ontario Crafts Council, Westminster Book Club, 55 Plus Mah Jongg, childrens' groups, etc.) Survived by husband Peter Strawson, daughters Laura Fralick (Philip) and Leslie Sheriff (Fazal), son John Strawson, granddaughters Katherine and Ingrid. She was predeceased by daughter Melanie, parents Harold and Catherine Brandon, brothers Arnold and Robert Brandon, and sister Joan Korpi. Thanks for the efforts of doctors and other medical staff at TB Regional Health Sciences and to her other doctors who kept Marion empowered over a few difficult years. Sargent and Son Funeral Home is assisting with private burial and a Celebration of Life in future. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Shelter House or charity of your choice are greatly appreciated.
