Marius D'Amours Obituary
D'AMOURSMr. Marius D'Amours, age 62 years, a resident of 115 South Rockwood Avenue, passed away unexpectedly in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital - McKellar on Sunday, February 18th, 2001. Born in St. Arséne, Quebec, Marius was raised on a farm and at the age of nineteen married the former Blanche Ouellet. He was employed at the Manic V Hydro Dam in Quebec, and by the Manitoba Forestry (C.F.I. ) for many years. He later owned and operated his own logging company and latterly, formed Dambros Timber, retiring in 1988 due to an injury. Marius was kind, generous, and had a great sense of humour - and he especially enjoyed gardening, bird-watching and Maple Syrup season in Quebec. Marius is survived by his wife Blanche; five sons Alain, Dany (Tammy), Martin (Rhonda), Carl (Melanie) all of Thunder Bay and Serge (Lori) of Orillia; daughter Martine (Brian) Morriseau of Thunder Bay; fourteen grandchildren Shannon, Tara, Michael, Melanie, Kaitlyn, Taisha, Daniel, Cody, Shaylee, Storm, Megan, Chris, Michael and Shaunce; one great-granddaughter Ryane; sister Rolande (Gratien) Malentfal of Pickering, ON; three brothers Roger (Huguette), Omer (Yvette) both of Cacouna PQ, Guillaume (Marcelle) of Cabano PQ. He was predeceased by five sisters: Lucille Dubé, Cecille Dubé, Lorette Malentfal, Rejeane Levesque, Jeanine D'Amours; one brother Wilfred. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, officiated by Deacon Howard McEachern. Interment will take place in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. in the Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street."
