MARLENE MILNE
Marlene Alberta Milne, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in the ICU. She was surrounded by the love of her family in her final moments.
Born on April 24, 1938, in Fort William, Ontario, Marlene was the daughter of the late Allan Reid and Elizabeth (Bessie) Reid (nee Dyer). She was a devoted wife to Robert Bruce Milne, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage until his passing in 2006. She was also predeceased by her brother Jim Reid, and her son Michael Bruce Milne.
Marlene's life was defined by her service to others and her deep love for her family. In 1979, she began a meaningful career with the Children's Aid Society, where she worked with heart and dedication until her retirement in 2000.
She leaves behind a rich legacy through her children: Mary Lou Schroeder, Cathy Ann Orzech, and Jeffrey James Milne. Marlene was a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother to a numerous and growing family, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her presence as the pillar of the family will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Marlene's Life will be held at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland Street, on Tuesday, March 24th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society in her honour.
