It is with great sadness that the Fitzpatrick family announces the passing of Martin Fitzpatrick at the age of 90 years. He died peacefully with his family at his side at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, June 09, 2010. Martin was born and raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick (Chatham, NB), arriving in Thunder Bay in 1944 with his brother Joe. He worked at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for many years retiring in 1984. Martin and Mary were active members of St. Patrick's Cathedral and were daily communicants for many years. Martin was also a Father Baxter 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife Mary, and by his children Mary Ann (Tom) and Jim (Lynda) and by his grandchildren Shannon, Melissa, Adam and Ryan. Martin is also survived by Mary's children, Brian, Stanley, Maureen, Kevin, Dennis, Colleen and Michael. Martin is also survived by Mary's many grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Sister Mary Fitzpatrick RHSJ (Kingston) and sister, Eileen (Miramichi, NB) and brother Joseph (Thunder Bay). Martin was predeceased by his first wife, Thelma, in 1977, his parents John and Catherine, his brothers William and Jay and his sisters Anne, Margaret and Theresa, all of New Brunswick. Vigil Prayers will be offered on Friday evening, at 7:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G.. Interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery at a later date. If friends desire, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
