MATHEW SLIPPERJACK
Mr. Mathew Luke Slipperjack, age 55, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away on December 6, 2025, at his mother's home. Mathew was born on December 8, 1969, in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. He was the second child born to Daniel Slipperjack and Caroline (Slipperjack) Yesno.

Mathew grew up in Eabametoong First Nation (Fort Hope, Ontario) before later moving to Thunder Bay. He co-owned a recreation hall and owned and operated a store prior to relocating to Thunder Bay with his family. Mathew greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved them very much.

Mathew was predeceased by his father Daniel Slipperjack; his daughter Tiffany Cheryl Slipperjack; and his son Robin Tyler Slipperjack.

He is survived by his daughter Chantal Slipperjack; his mother Caroline Yesno; the mother of his children, Shannon Moonias; his uncles/brothers, Lewis (Sandra) Yesno and Edward Yesno; his brothers Michael Slipperjack and Sarge Slipperjack; his sisters Shannon Slipperjack and Doris Slipperjack; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

His legacy lives on through his grandchildren and his great-nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss their Papa.

Mathew will be deeply missed by his family and by his community of Eabametoong First Nation.
