MELVIN PRIMROSE Obituary

February 27, 1938 ~ August 12, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Melvin George Primrose announces his passing on August 12, 2025 at age 87 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Hospice Unit, with family by his side.

Melvin was born on February 27, 1938 in Birch River, Manitoba. He spent many years working in the mining industry across Canada. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, landscaping and spending time with his family. He also loved travelling to British Columbia where he had set roots for a few years before moving to Thunder Bay.

He is survived by his beloved wife Mireille of 63 years, his children Lynn (Gordon), Dean (Delores) and Gary (Bernadette). He was also a very proud grandfather to Joshua and Jessica and loved travelling to Winnipeg to spend time with them.

The family of Melvin would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, St Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care and the Hospice Unit.

Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Melvin's memory to the Kidney Foundation.

I haven't seen my uncle in over 20 years and he lives here in Thunder Bay, wish I could have seen more of him along with my cousins Lynn, Dean and Gary...We should all make time for the families we have. I am sooooo happy to have seen him while he was in the hospital...We hugged a lot, he recognized me and told me he had missed me, brought tears to my eyes. The uncle who was always so kind to me growing up...sure gonna miss you, love you RIP
