Michael Harry Cuma a resident of Thunder Bay went to his heavenly home peacefully at home, on Sunday, February 19, 2006. Born in Vancouver, Michael moved with his parents as a young boy to Coronado, Alberta where he was raised. He came to Fort William as a young man seeking employment. Mike worked as an orderly at the Hogarth/ Westmount Hospital for over 40 years providing wonderful care to others with great joy. Michael married the former Mary Hirchok on October 30, 1954 in the First Church United. In his earlier years, Michael was involved with the Westfort Little League and Minor Football with his children. Mike enjoyed gardening, having coffee with the Northwood coffee gang and lived for his home life and family. Mike is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Cheryl (David) McMaster and their children Cara, all of Thunder Bay, Megan, British Columbia and Graeme McMaster, Thunder Bay son Michael (Kathy) and their children Michael and Kristin, all of Winnipeg; son Dale (Leona) and their children Adam, Erin and Marlie all of Thunder Bay. Also survived by sisters-in-law Anne Pawluk, Elsie Kerekes and Julie (Bill) McDonald, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Anastasia and Nicholas Cuma in Coronado, Alberta, in-laws Irene and Mike Hirchok and brothers-in-law Ed Pawluk and Steve Kerekes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 11:00 am in First Church United. A private family interment has taken place prior to the service in Cloud Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Michael Cuma in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
