It is with immense sadness and heartbreak that the family announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Michael Todd Erechook on December 16, 2021 in Calgary, AB at the age of 54 years old.
Todd was born December 11, 1967 in Wawa, ON, later raised and educated in Thunder Bay, ON where he met most of his lifelong friends (way too many to mention). Todd had a very close relationship with his father Ken, a true love and unbreakable bond they shared. Todd was the baby boy with big dark eyes and silver hair that his mom cherished with all her heart and Todd loved her so, from her nurturing him at a young age to adult advice always helping his tail out no matter what, without any repercussions - a true mother's love. Todd was always a happy smiling guy who would instantly become friends with whoever he met. In his 20's Todd ventured out to Calgary for his job as a carpet installer and that's where he planted roots loving the area so much. Todd loved to race cars while in Calgary earning him a few 1st places! Todd lived life on his terms like a free bird. He left a trail of broken hearts - the ladies just loved him. If there was a party happening Todd would be there having fun and raising his beer to say “Kippis” (Cheers in Finn). So, whenever you read this, please raise your beverage way up high and say “Kippis” to Todd, he would have loved this!
Todd is survived by his Mother Kaija (Jaska) Heikkinen, father Ken (Luanne) Erechook, Brother Steve (Shelley) Erechook, Nephews Stephan (Laura) Erechook, Tanner Erechook (Riley) and Great Nephew Nolan Michael Erechook (born on his Great Uncle's birthday), also Step-sister Pia Heikkinen (Todd), Step-brothers Hue and Corey Higham. Also, Uncle Oli Isosaari and numerous cousins of Thunder Bay, ON, Uncle Richard, (Ann) Erechook, Aunt Debbie, (Ralph) Keintz, Uncle Bernie, (Lori) Erechook, Aunt Beth, (Paul) Vachon and numerous cousins in Wawa, ON.
Predeceased by his Sister Linda Tina Erechook, Grandparents Nestor and Ruth Erechook of Wawa, Grandparents Lauri and Helli Isosaari of Finland.
A special thank you to Calgary Foothills Hospital Emergency Dept. and a huge thank you to Corey Higham, for ensuring Todd is back home with his Dad.
There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
