It is with sadness that the family of Michael John Halow Sr. announce his passing on March 22, 2015 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Mike was born in Fort William, Ontario on November 13, 1931. He lived his entire life in the Thunder Bay District. For a time, he worked in various bush camps and then started farming in 1963, retiring when his health no longer permitted him to continue. Mike was predeceased by his wife Kirsti Halow; daughter Diana Halow-Petrini; parents Pauline and Dan Halow; brother Joseph Lucheski Sr.; sisters Helen Drazecky and Kay Walchuk; nephews Joseph Lucheski Jr. and Kip Halow and niece Kim Halow. He is survived by wife Gale; children Valerie, Dorothy, Michael (Nancy) and Andrew (Shelley); 8 grandchildren; sister Nellie Walchuk and brother Bruce Halow (Janice); step-children Bobby-Jo and John and numerous nieces and nephews. Thank you to the nursing staff of 2C at the Thunder Bay Regional for their care and compassion and a special thank you to the staff at Curans Heart Centre. Cremation has taken place and interment at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rosslyn Community Centre, corner of Rosslyn Road and Vibert Road, March 28, 2015 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. On-line condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
