Michael Heney

On Wednesday, February 22, 2012, Michael John Heney passed away suddenly at the age of 79 years. Born on the 24th of April 1932 in Fort William, Mike returned to Thunder Bay in 1977, after 27 years in the RCAF. Here in Thunder Bay he enjoyed a second 18 year career with Saint John Ambulance as Regional Manager for Northwestern Ontario. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Lorraine (nee Kenrick) and his children Mary, Linda, Mike (Karen), Kathy (Brian) and Pat (Tanis). Mike will also be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren; Kim and Nicki Smith, Pierre-Yves, Eric and Maryse Lafleche, Kellie, Michael, and William Heney, Jamie, Jordan and Jessica Baraskewich, Liam and Brent Heney, as well as his two great grandchildren Marguerite and Lily Rose Lafleche. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Peter (Rita), sister-in-law Bernie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Jim, brothers Jim and Larry and sister Elizabeth. As per Mike's wishes, no service will be held.
