MICHAEL GREGORY LEIBERG
March 26, 1954 - February 17, 2024
Mike Leiberg, age 69 years, was a resident of Thunder Bay. He passed away peacefully at home, after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side.
Mike was born in Ottawa, where his father (Military Police) was stationed at the time. Growing up as an "Army Brat" he attended numerous schools throughout Canada and at bases abroad. He attended Hillcrest High School before continuing on to George Brown College in Toronto. There he became a pipe fitter and took many roles in his trade. Mike was a member of the United Association of Plumbing and Pipefitting for 45+ years, and mentored others in the tricks of the trade. He loved hunting, fishing, and especially enjoyed politics. He will always be remembered for his blunt, yet straightforward personality.
Mike is survived by: his children Kayla (Mike) Vecchio, and Bonnie Bain; grandchild Fallan Bain; his sister Sheryl (Aarre) Ertolahti; and nieces Lisa and Leila Ertolahti. Mike was preceded by his parents, Lee and Ellen Leiberg.
Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.

To all of the Leiberg family please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. True Mike was very straight forward & always expressed his opinion. That's what we liked about him. As well as being a friend. We met Mike through sharing a beer or two at the local bar. He was always a pleasure to be around & we will miss him dearly. Again our deepest condolences.
