Michael McArthur Obituary
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Todd McArthur on May 18, 2023 at the age of 55.
Mike was born on July 29, 1967 in Fort William, ON. He grew up in Dorion with his mom Elaine with his big brother Paul on his grandparent's farm.
Mike was an adventurer. His best times were had exploring the back roads, lakes and rivers around Dorion. He was an avid gardener and grew the most amazing produce that he happily shared with friends and neighbours. He loved history and collecting antiques and artifacts.
He spent most of his career in working in forestry, powerline construction, and most recently retired from Teranorth Construction. He was a jack of all trades and a very hard worker. Always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, Mike will be sorrily missed by his family, friends, and his community.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons Anthony McArthur and Jonathon McArthur, his mother Elaine Lanktree; his siblings Paul McArthur, Andrew Lanktree (Shanna) & Jaclyn Falkenberg (Dean); nieces and nephews Brett & Robyn Height, Kaija & Holden Lanktree, and Jake McArthur.
Mike was predeceased by his father Joe McManus, his stepfather Dwayne Lanktree and his grandparents Claude & Irene McArthur.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of Your Choice are welcomed.
A Celebration of his Life will take place at the Hurkett Community Centre on Thursday, May 25th at 1pm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.

What a blessing Mike was to us.
We would spend a lot of time solving the world's problems and reminiscing about his past misadventures in Dorion when he was young.
He mentioned several times he should've wrote a book.
There was always a fire on and some comfort food in his home for the wayward.
We will miss him for the kind reliable soul he was.
Trustworthy, sweet and caring he always had your back. No judgement and always appreciative
He taught me so much. It has been an honour to be his friend.
