Michael Patola Obituary
PATOLA Mr. Michael Patola age 47 years of Piccadilly Ave. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday June 1st, 2006. Michael was born in Port Arthur, Ontario and spent his childhood here. At the age of 17, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces, leaving home to explore the country. He enjoyed the experience of living in many different cities across Canada, and made many friends wherever he went; but, he always ended up back home in Thunder Bay. From the time he left the Armed Forces, he worked mainly in sales where he excelled thanks to his drive and positive attitude. Michael loved the outdoors, especially fishing and sitting around the bonfire singing or telling jokes. He expressed his creative side through music, and was always up for a game of horseshoes, chess or Texas Hold'em Poker. A sports enthusiast, Michael's greatest joy was coaching his sons in Little League Baseball and at Grandview Recreational Hockey. Above all, Michael loved his family and friends; he was generous, compassionate, fun-loving and could always make others laugh along with him. Michael will be sadly missed by his sons Michael Jr. (Gillian), Andrew (Hailey) and Daniel; his wife Lori; mother Aune; sisters Karen Smith and Katherine Bradley and their families, brothers John (Marg) and Tim (Patricia) and their families as well as his sister-in-law Mairi. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Michael was predeceased by his father John, twin sister Marianne, brother Ken and several aunts and uncles. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Michael Patola will be held on Wednesday June 7th, 2006 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the HARBOURVIEW FUNERAL CENTRE, 499 North Cumberland Street, officiated by Canon John Jordan. Visitation for friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to a trust fund to benefit his sons Michael Jr. , Andrew, and Daniel."
