t is with heartbreak and great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Spavor on Friday, April 25, 2014. Mike was born in Fort William on January 26, 1962. He attended Selkirk High School and Confederation College. Mike was employed by the City of Thunder Bay as a Parkman and he retired early as the result of a back injury. Michael went back to school graduating from Confederation College on the Dean's List with a diploma in Business Accounting. Mike loved his sports, his music and his furry buddies Oscar and Sparky. He was also an avid concert goer. Mike was happiest in the great outdoors with a fishing pole in hand and his fishing partner Donna by his side. Whether it was by the shore on a sunny day, at night by the fire or in the canoe on a beautiful lake, he was always looking to catch the "big one". Mike is survived by Donna Perrault, Jim and Betty Perrault, Les and Susan Perrault, Taylor, Savannah and Hailey Perrault. Joe Spavor, Vicky Fadden, Steve and Andrea Spavor, Jordan and Alyssa Spavor. Cremation has taken place, as per Mike's wishes. A gathering will be held from 1-4 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2014 in the Solarium at the Slovak Legion, 801 Atlantic Avenue. If friends so desire, donations to the charity of their choice would be appreciated.
