Michael Westerman

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Michael Westerman, age 70, a resident of Southbridge Pinewood, announce his passing on July 31, 2019. Michael will fondly be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father and grandpa, a long-time member of the Dorion Bible Fellowship, a no-nonsense umpire and referee, and an unwavering fan of the Chicago Blackhawks. Lovingly remembered by his wife Janet, of 46 years; son Blair, his children Graysen, Hannah, Kadin and their mother Aimee; daughter Sharon-Lee (Steven) Dumonski and their children Drew, Addison and Camryn; son Charles (Hailey) and their son Ethan; and a granddaughter Alexandra Clementi, along with sisters Betty (Gordon) Marjerrison, Kathy (John) Parker and Patti (Bill) Avis. Predeceased by his parents Frances and Gilbert Westerman, sister Debbie and brother Charles, and grandson Christopher in infancy. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service for family will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. The family wish to thank all the staff in the Sand Piper wing of Southbridge Pinewood for their outstanding care and compassion; a special thank you to Dr. Watson and the renal team at the Thunder Bay Health Sciences Centre for their care, and the Red Rock medical van volunteer drivers that assisted with transportation over the years.
