It's been so hard since you passed dad; I miss you so much. You spring unbidden into my mind at all hours of the day and night, bringing tears and memories every time. I constantly hear your voice in my head speaking my name, see your face, and recall snippets of you from the most trivial of times dating back to when I was but a child. I never knew until your passing how big the place you occupy in my heart is; overwhelming yet embracing all others.
You were never fast to judge or condemn, always calm and the voice of reason. You were the kindest, sweetest, most loveable man I've ever known, and now you are gone.
I feel so much pain knowing you have left us yet relief that anguish you suffered during your final days is gone. I so wish I could have spent so much more time with you treasuring our every moment together, if only the leagues between us were not so great. Now that distance has changed, and become insurmountable...
I love you dad, more than anyone including myself ever knew. While it may take years before I will ever be okay with your passing, I am happy to know you are now at peace, and pain-free. For me, your memory shall always endure.
