In Loving Memory Of NANCY ELLIOTT
Nancy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 following a courageous four-year battle with cancer, with her daughter Krystal by her side. While her family's hearts are heavy with loss, they take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Krystal, and son-in-law Mat; her cherished grandchildren, Harmony and Sophia, who brought endless joy to her life; her bonus daughter, Amanda Korte (Dave), and bonus grandchildren, Raija and Dylan; her sister, Susan Rocheleau (John); and her brother, Derrick Gillott (Karen). She will also be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, and numerous dear friends whose lives she touched in so many ways.
Nancy was predeceased by her father, Derrick "Dick" Gillott (1995), and her mother, Winnifred "Freddy" Gillott (2007).
Nancy completed her Registered Nursing degree in 1971 and later earned her Honours Bachelor of Science in 1981. She began her nursing career in Brockville before moving to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where she worked at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital. Nancy retired from her nursing career in March 2001; however, her dedication to the profession led her to return to practice for another ten years before finally settling into full retirement.
Nancy was well known and deeply loved within the bowling community. She spent countless hours at the lanes, forming lifelong friendships and sharing her passion for the sport. Her enthusiasm, encouragement, and familiar smile made her a valued and memorable presence to everyone who knew her there.
Nancy will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the love she had for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the friendships she built, and the many lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to join us on Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the R. Leino Memorial Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre for a Celebration of Life, followed by a short luncheon. Guests are encouraged to wear the colour purple (bowling shirts welcomed and encouraged) in honour of Nancy's love for the YBC bowling program.
If friends and family so desire, donations in Nancy's memory may be made to the 5-Pin YBC Bowling Program at Mario's.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ibrahim and the Cancer Centre staff, Dr. Ward and the Palliative Care team, and all of the staff on 1A. Your compassion and care were deeply appreciated.
The service will be livestreamed at
www.harbourviewfuneral.ca where condolences may be offered as well.
