Nick Zaharuk Obituary
ZAHARUKMr. Nick Zaharuk, age 66 years, a resident of London, Ontario, former longtime resident of Thunder Bay, passed away in Parkwood Hospital on Wednesday, May 30, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 25, 1935 in Port Arthur, Ontario he was a lifetime resident of the city until moving to London in 1983. Nick worked for many years as an electrician and inspector for OntarioHydro. His main interests were his children and grandchildren. Nick loved working in his garden, on his lawn, working around his home and spending time with his dog Kerri. He was looking forward to future trips in his Air Stream Trailer. Nick is survived by his wife Jean, son Barry (Patricia) and their children Jocelyn, Brent and Melissa, son Brian, son Donny (Sandra) and their children Bradly and Nicole, daughter Lynda (Uwe) and their children Alana, Jessie and Aaron, step-daughter Jane Rasmussen and her son Christian, step-daughter Susan (Brian) O'Connor and their children Jamie and Kristen, brother William (Stephanie) as well as by 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara, parents John and Frozina and sister Cathrine Carriere. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. in Knox United Church, Shuniah Street, with Rev. David Silliman officiating. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Victorian Order of Nurses would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N.
