LUNDY
The family of Norma Winifred Lundy (Thunder Bay) are sad to announce her passing on December 7, 2025. Norma, daughter of William and Clara Hamilton, was born in Emo, Ontario in 1936. She attended school in Devlin and then went on to teacher's college in North Bay, coming back to the Fort Frances area, to teach and where she met the love of her life, Frank Hutson Lundy, marrying him on August 19, 1960. Life was an adventure for Norma and Frank (and their two sons, Garry and Doug), living outside of Fort Frances, then moving to Nipigon (for a few years) before settling in Thunder Bay. Norma taught at a number of schools, in Thunder Bay, ending at St. Anne's Catholic Elementary School. She completed a Bachelors of Art degree, at Lakehead University, in 1983 and then retired in the early 1990's. For decades Norma was a long-time active member of the Broadway United Church, helping out at the many a Christmas Church Fairs, church dinners and helping prepare the hundreds of dozens of perogies that they sold out yearly. Norma and Frank got the travel bug later on in life, travelling to Europe and out west, visiting cousins and many trips to the Toronto area to visit with their grandchildren, something Norma kept up for many years after Frank's death in 2008. Norma is survived by her two sons, Garry (wife Jill), Doug (wife Bev) and her two grandchildren, Cailee and Cameron, bothers Davy (wife Darlene, deceased) and Bruce (wife Lynn) Hamilton and brother-in-law Ernie Peters. As per Norma's request, there will be no funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to the Broadway United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society and Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
