August 5, 1931 - January 28, 2026 Mrs. Norma Niemi, age 94 years of Thunder Bay, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Hospice at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Glenavon, Saskatchewan, her family moved to Fort Frances where she grew up. She was married to Roy White and they moved to Stevens, Ontario and Manitouwadge. Her husband Roy died accidently in 1987, and she moved to Thunder Bay in 1989. In 1999, Norma was married to Allan Niemi. She had been involved with Christian Women and Women's Aglow for a number of years. Norma had also been actively involved with teaching youth bible study and with the Thunder Bay Living Well Healing Rooms, and most recently with a small group for prayer.
Norma is survived by her husband Allan; daughters Judy McGee and family of Red Deer, Alberta, Debbie and son of Thunder Bay, Joanne White and family of Surrey, British Columbia, Tammy Natkinniemi and family of Calgary, Alberta, Cathy White of Calgary, Alberta; stepdaughter Karen Wilson and family, 3 stepsons, Grant Niemi (Darlene) and family, George Niemi, John Niemi (Eeva) and family all of Thunder Bay as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by a son Douglas in 1959; grandson Christopher McGee in 1972; brother Darrell Webb in 2004; sister Muriel McFayden in 2009; brother Alan Webb in January 2016 and a sister Lois Thompson in February 2016 as well as by her parents Neal Webb in 1971 and Lottie Webb in 1980 and stepdaughter Trish Johnson in 2021.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of St. Joseph's Hospice, Dr. Mulligan as well as the VON for the loving care you provided to Norma. Thank you as well to Everest Funeral Chapel for their kindness and professionalism.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, with Pastor Jubin Abraham Officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
