NORMAN TRUHN Obituary

Mr. Norman Truhn passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 21, 2026 at Hogarth Riverview Manor.

Norman was born to Annie and James Roland Truhn on March 22, 1939 in Mafeking, Manitoba. Uncle Norman was a kind and gentle soul with a genuine heart who made everyone feel special. We loved to hear of the many hearts he touched with his friends and neighbours while living in Westfort. He enjoyed and looked forward to his regular visits to Robins. Uncle Norman moved to Hogarth Riverview Manor and soon became 'one of the favourites.'

Norman will be missed by his sister Iva Dennis-Mazur. His sister in law, Pat Truhn. His nephews and nieces, Dale, Sheila and Kaila Dennis, Dan & Barb Dennis, Matthew Kruzel, Jamie Truhn, Jodi Truhn and Nancy Krasniuk.

Norman was predeceased by his parents Annie and Roland. Brother Jim, brothers in law Walter Dennis and Joseph Mazur. His nephews Ron Dennis and Kyle Dennis.

The family extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Garron and the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor for the exceptional kind and special care they provided to Norman over the years.

Should friends so desire, donations made in Norman's name to the Humane Society Northwest Animal Centre, 1535 Rosslyn Road, Thunder Bay would be appreciated.

In following Uncle Norman's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in the spring.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 west Gore Street and James.

Mr Norman was one of our favourite Westfort neighbours. Such a very kind man. Always a smile and a conversation when we saw him on our daily walks or visits to the corner store. Will always have a special place in our hearts.

I was saddened to hear of Norman's passing and extend deep condolences to all of you. His obituary was beautifully written as it truly captured his kind and gentle spirit. He always make everyone feel special.
Norman took pleasure looking out the window and one time I was fundraising with my niece. He ran to the door with money in his to make his donation. Of course he had to collect his hugs. He always made me laugh.
Norman, you truly were the light of Westfort. RIP
