OLGA DONNA POTOSKY
"She will be well welcomed into Heaven"
Olga Donna (Mazurkewich) Potosky passed away on March 15th, 2025, 16 days before her 103rd Birthday. She was born March 31st, 1922, in Fort William, Ontario, the fifth of fifteen children. Educated locally at Ogden Street School and after graduating from Fort William Collegiate Institute (FWCI), Olga worked at Canadian Car for 1 1/2 years during World War Two. She then attended and graduated with honours as a registered nurse from McKellar Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. She worked on the Obstetrics ward at McKellar Hospital and later part-time at Grandview Lodge, devoting a life of servitude to the community and her family. She was a devout member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church and the CWL.

She married Steve Andrew Potosky November 21st, 1946 and recently celebrated their 78th year of marriage. She is survived by her husband Steve, sons David (Cheryl) and Steve Jr, grandchildren Kate (Anton van Rhyn), Lauren Potosky, and Patrick Potosky (Dave's children), Sarah Potosky and Sheena Miller (Steve Jr.'s children) and Taj Larson Potosky (Jim), and great grandchild Remi Grace van Rhyn. Also surviving are siblings Irene, Virginia (Virg) and Dennis, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by parents Karoline and Wasyl (William), son Jim (2024), brothers Ed, Peter, Mike, John, Joe, and Bill, and sisters Stella, Gloria and Bernice, and infant brother Paul and sister Anne.

Services of Visitation ( 6pm) and Prayers (7pm) will be held at Blake's Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26th, and Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church Thursday 27th at 11am. If desired, donations may be made to St Elizabeth's Church or Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre-Cancer Care.

A special thank you from the family to the 7 North Staff of Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care who provided Mom's care for the past 6+ years.
