It is with profound sadness that the family of Patricia Hard, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandma announces her peaceful passing on December 9, 2025 , at age 91. She was surrounded by family at her home in Hogarth Riverside.
Born in Fort William Pat was known for her incredible capacity to love. Her door was always open. Her shoulder was available for a cry, her arms for a needed hug. This quality made her exceptional in her role as a nurse and caregiver. This trait did not stop at her job. Pat worked as a PSW at Central Park Lodge where she found a new family of residents and coworkers who were there throughout her life. Pat's greatest role was being a Grandma. She made each grandchild feel special and loved.
Pat is predeceased by her parents Elva & Ed Walsh, husband Brent Hard, daughter Cheryl Hard, son Robert Hard, in-laws Robert & Evelyn Hard and Gertrude Hard.
Pat will be missed wholeheartedly by her daughter Cathy Topp (Edward); grandchildren Micheal Bates, Madison Bates, and Cameron Topp (Patty); great grandchildren Hayley, Joe, William.
Cremation has taken place and a private internment at a later date. As per Pat's request no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Society, or if able, donate to a longterm care home - your time, a puzzle, DVD - will bring joy to many.
Our family extends gratitude to the staff of 5S Orchid at Hogarth. Each of you know how special you are, how much we loved you. Dr. Long thank you for your care of our Mum.
When we left Mum we always say "Your the world's best Mum" - her sarcastic reply was "I'm your only mum". It is true - no replacement. So Mum, all I can say is thank you and love you.
"Remember always wear some sparkle, whether it's glitzy glasses or sequin shoes. Shine everyday and smile" Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
