Patricia Pasternak Obituary

October 10, 1927 -
July 21, 2022

Patricia Pasternak passed away peacefully in her family home of over 60 years on Autumnwood Drive with her son, Ernie and two of her beloved granddaughters, Meghan and Kelsey by her side. Staying true to her thoughtful nature and doing things on her own terms, sparing the pain of her two long-term caregivers, Sally and David in her last moments.

Patricia was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 10, 1927, the daughter of the late James and Norah Crowhurst.

In her childhood years, Patricia and her family moved to Port Arthur and had been educated at Pine Street School and P.A.C.I. Working downtown, walking by the family-run business the Shoreline Hotel, looking like the model she was, her husband Ernie spotted his future wife.

Patricia dedicated her entire life to raising her family of six sons and one daughter. She loved her family dearly, and her reason for being. In her home, countless hours were enjoyed visiting, knitting, drawing, painting, reading, gardening, and walks with her dog, Crackers. She took pride in her appearance, always well dressed, hair curled and fresh lipstick; even going out and feeding the birds. She had a love for all animals. Her home and sanctuary reflected that with her daily visits to the deer, birds and squirrels.

In her earlier years, Pat and her husband, Ernie along with multiple children and grandchildren made camp at Mackenzie Beach their main focus. She was consumed with making sure all the kids had a full and fun summer.

A heartfelt thank you to Lilian (Patricia's niece) for coming to Thunder Bay to say goodbye. Your support and presence has been overwhelmingly appreciated. Also her oldest son Jim made the long journey to see his mom one last time.

Survived by sons Jim (Carolyn), Bill, Randy (Teresa), David, Ernie (Carmella) and her only daughter and best friend Sally (John). Grandchildren Chris, Camie, Jason, Kaliegh, Colton, Steven, Michael, Kimberly, Meghan, Kelsey, Sierra and Mandy, and one of her great-grandchildren, Norah Bygate, will carry her name and continue her legacy.

Predeceased by parents, James and Norah, husband Ernie Pasternak, and son Patrick (Adrienne).

As requested, a private family interment will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated, if desired.
