Patrick Neil Haskell, born in Sudbury, Ontario on March 17, 1936, passed away after a short illness, at the age of 85, peacefully at his home on September 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Pat's family and home were his highest priority, especially his children and grandchildren. Pat was a corporal in the Second Canadian Guard and he served in Peacetime over seas. Upon his return he met his loving wife Glenda and got married on February 15, 1963. Together they raised seven children and were blessed with 35 grandchildren. Papa also had his special doggy friend Dakota and his special granddoggy Molly. Besides his family Pat was passionate about prospecting and always longed to find that pot of gold so he could make all his kids' lives better. Little did he know just being Dad and Papa Pat was more than enough. He spent his years working for Abitibi in the bush and on the river. He also worked construction, railroad and according to BJ he once had to play in net for Toronto when Allan Bester's mom was sick. Pat was a hockey coach for many years and then a ringette coach and he always said coaching the boys was much easier. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and being in the bush alone or with his family. Pat is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Merle, his wife Glenda, his son Danny, his son-in-law Marc, brother Larry and his wife Mary Ellen and his brother-in-law Dave. He is lovingly survived by his children Leona (Art), Laura, Billy (Joanne), Jim (Sharon), Becky (Wayne), Joe (Kenzie) and grandchildren Rachel (Steve), Jean Marc Sr. (Mia), Paddy, Martin (Erin), BJ, Kaitlen (Danny), Lauren (Jay), Taylor, Tanner, Kristy (Kelly), Morgan, Saige, Myla, Draven, Skylar, Jean Jr. (Riley), Star (Kirk), William, Dallas (Kara), Dante (Jerryn), Dakota, Avery, Leah, Ellie, Hudson, Abby, Rylinn, Kason, Kati, Sophia, Harlie, Emma, Brae, Isabella and Kody. He is also survived by his brother Ken (Betty Anne), his best friend and only sister Eva Rae, and sisters-in-law Sheila and Topsy and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon.
