Mr. Patrick Esyrum Wood age 79 years, a resident of Hymers, died in Hogarth-Westmount Hospital, on Wednesday, January 23, 2002. Born in Manitoba, Patrick moved to Thunder Bay in the early 1970's. Patrick worked as a logger in his earlier years, and most of his life as a miner. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces WW II. Senator of M.N.O and an honourary member of the United Steel Workers Union. Patrick is survived by his wife Stella, sons Raymond (Bev), Cecil Montgomery (Susan), Patrick Jr. (Patti), Elmer; daughters Dorothy Gburek (Edward), Louise Magel (Earl Sr. ), Winnie Bowers (Floyd), Helena Strilchuk (Jerry), Brenda Gudmundson (Keith), Lisa Mae Wood (Jason), and Becky Vincent, grand children Marty, Monty Jr. , Ken, Bob (Stacey), Tia, Michelle, P.J. , Derek, Allan, Donna, Huey (Joann), Dennis (Catherine), Lori Lapp (Merlin), Earl Jr. (Theresa), Richard (Shawna), Ken, Danny, Reena, Kristen, Venessa, Alisa, James, and great grand children Darion, Madison, Shyne, Brandon, Leah, Paige, Nicholas, Rebecca, Leah, Lucas, Courtney, Aimee, Veronica, Stephanie, Jennessa, Natisha, Sydney, Adam, Aaron and Nathan, brother Issac, brother-in-law to Hannas, Liza and Cecile. Patrick was predeceased by his parents and daughter Rose Marie McLean, sisters and brothers Magie, Mamie, Mildred, Robert, Cecille-May and Burma, Winnie Bell, Grace, Gertie, John, Albert. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at 1:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Canon Paul Carr officiating. Interment will follow at Hymers Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2002, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the Alzheimer Society or Charity of Choice would be appreciated.A tree will be planted in memory of Patrick Wood in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
