Paul Gunn Obituary

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of one of the most valuable and cherished members of our family. Mr. Paul Gunn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday July 17th 2008 at TBRH. Born on August 8th 1925 in Fort William Ontario, Paul grew up in the East end where he worked alongside his father at the Star Bakery delivering bread by horse and wagon. This is where he met the love of his life and with the help of a loaf of raisin bread, the rest was history. After some time working for the railroad as a member of the "ice gang", and a brief stint at Laskins, Paul discovered his true calling and became part owner of Petersons Furniture where he would eventually retire from. Paul loved his family most of all but he also had an incredible love for animals. He loved camping and fishing at his camp at Graham Lake, crosswords, cards, bowling with his sons, hockey and baseball. Paul was pre deceased by his parents Micheal and Anastacia and his sons Donald and Richard whom he loved very dearly. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife Anne (Lipowy), Son Ronny (Wendy) and daughter Lorraine, Grandchildren Conan, Aaron (Kim), Christie (Adrian), Keely, Nathan (Simone) and Richard Jr. , sister Vicky Holomego and six great grandchildren who were the apples of his eye. Funeral services for Paul will be held on Wednesday July 23rd at 1:00 pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dan Lapolla c.s. officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View cemetery. If friends desire memorials to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Association or the Alzheimers Society.
